Here are my presentation slides for the final project:
Hello everyone today I'm going to be talking about fashion forecasting 2022. before I'm gonna start talking about my fashion prediction for fashion trends in 2022, id like to play a short preview of two of the runway shows that watched when doing my research.
Now I'm gonna briefly explain to you some of the brands that I looked up to do the fashion forecast. I watched a lot of runway shows that present their 2022 collection. so please bury in mind that the runway shows that I'm gonna talk about are just some of the shows I saw. I've seen so many more but these are just some brands that id like to highlight because these are my favorite shows of the year.
When I was looking for some information and ideas. I did visit vogue and a few other fashion websites to get some images as well as the descriptions of the runway shows.
So here are some contents that I found. where gonna start of with Versace first:

Versace Spring Summer 2022
The new collection presented for the Spring Summer 2022 runway season with a total of seventy-nine looks, tones down the label’s flare to dare.
The collection is offering the all-time Versace favorites. The famed oversize safety pin enhanced mini dresses are still owning the slick cut while featuring layers inspired by the Versace scarf. The theme of the collection goes into fully scarf-taken men’s and women’s dresses sent down Milan’s runway under the scarf-covered ceiling.

Givenchy Spring Summer 2022
Givenchy Women’s and Men’s Spring Summer 2022 collection by Matthew M. William presented during the recently wrapped up Paris Fashion Week. Mixing luxury and utility, lavishness, and austerity, the collection explores the tension between extravagance and discipline. With his first live show for the French luxury house, Williams tries to show the emotional side of fashion that is sometimes forgotten in its confines.
The SS22 collection from Williams develops a tension between extravagance and discipline, tradition and today. Defined by an intense contrast in clothing, the range celebrates the tradition of Givenchy, providing the strength of classicism and subversion through material experimentation and construction through expert techniques.

Jaquemus Fall Winter 2021
Yet the collection even with a runway show and a real audience present to see the same is feeling timely even with the slight off-fashion-week-schedule moment. Jacquemus sent down the runway 50 new looks presented for the Fall 2021 season. The DNA of the warm riviera on the south of France is once again knitted into the DNA of Simon Porte Jacquemus’ latest outing. Nevertheless, while the runway kicks of with more light, summer like pieces the designer quickly manages to showcase his commitment to a true Fall 2021 craftsmanship. The vibrant monochrome pieces sport the fresh take on oversized, from coats to invitingly instagrammable oversized suits.
The new collection also explores the Jacquemus flare for slick cuts enhancing design just before entering the domain of over designed. Jacquemus plays this game throughout the collection, with it’s play with proportions often encapsulating classic men’s and women’s pieces. This play of proportions does not forget the brand’s top-seller, the famed Jacquemus mini bag famously known as the La Montagne ‘Le Chiquito Moyen’ Bag.

Mugler Fall Winter 2022
The news at Mugler this time around is how he’s evolving his hyper-sexy vibe. In previous collections, he’s leaned on black, but here he played with stretchy knit color-block layers to great effect, mixing emerald, ultramarine, Bordeaux, and bright orange in one look and highlighter yellow, navy, and orange in another. His other experiment was born from a vintage Mugler bauble with a spray of flexible gold snake chains that he found at a flea market.

Off-white Fall Winter 2022
Fortunately, his “Laboratory of Fun” show was also a feast for the fashion senses. Highlights included Amber Valletta in a teal leather miniskirt suit; Honey Dijon in an orange leather coatdress with monochromatic accessories, and Alton Mason in an oversized felt wool jacket with a custom print by Pablo Tomek.
While short of revolutionary, the lineup was a good reflection of the zeitgeist. Color and technical fabrics injected surface excitement into minimalist looks, while the men’s clothes borrowed from protective gear, from the hazmat-style hooded tops in safety yellow and orange to a wearable quilt of a coat with a matching vest for extra padding

I cannot scroll down my Instagram without seeing a celebrity wearing these interesting pieces.
Cut-outs are a major trend this season. We’ve seen it from the runway to the red carpet and everywhere in between, and it’s easy to see why. This is an effortless way to be sexy and is a great throwback to the trending Y2k esthetic. Take inspiration from designers like Stella McCartney, and Jacquemus this season with asymmetrical tight tops, slinky midi dresses, and trousers. You can wear them with similarly skin-tight elements, such as a leather skirt or flared trousers. Alternatively, blend casual and evening wear by adding denim into the equation, or you can seek inspiration from the corporate scene with an oversized suit.
Catsuits
- These recent FW21 Fashion Weeks revealed a new trend: the catsuit, a clear transition from indoor to outdoor wear as consumers look forward to dressing up and out again.
- The catsuit comes in many forms, often in knitted, fitted fabrics with different pant lengths and necklines from brands like show example on your screen
- Each season, there's usually one trend that throws all of us for a loop, and for S/S 22, that honor goes to the catsuit. It's not something we exactly saw coming, but the skin-tight relative of the jumpsuit was everywhere in Paris. Almost half of Anthony Vaccarello's Saint Laurent collection displayed a catsuit of some sort, from cutout-riddled suits to halter-neck versions. Stella McCartney also incorporated skin-baring cutouts in her seafoam-green interpretation of the catsuit complete with an army-green maxi coat.

I think catsuit is a perfect option for those who wanna show their body shape while being comfortable. This body-skimming outfit is extremely sexy but also versatile enough to wear almost anywhere.
Color full suits
Some of the resort 2022 trends including elevated comfort and everyday athleisure are ones you’re probably already familiar with from the 2021 collections but continue to be finessed by designers. Others feel newer and more directional. Among them, statement outerwear that is primed for an early debut this fall, colorful suits in shades like lilac and green, and more.
Every season there seems to be a new take on suiting and fun, colorful shades are the trend to know about for resort 2022. It's also worth noting that the cuts are a bit slimmer and less oversized than in past seasons.

Oversized suits
We’ve seen oversized suits on and off the runway for a hot minute. This flattering choice can look amazing anywhere, making it an excellent choice for the office, a brunch date, or a trip to the market. Sometimes simple is best – a basic T-shirt with sneakers or slides are all you need for a subtle and stylish outfit.
On the opposite end, a slinky turtleneck and stilettos are a perfect match in the colder months. But when the weather warms up, you can show a little skin with a bra or crop top underneath.
in fact bra as a top is also one of the trendy trends to hop on and I believe you also will see someone who rocks the trend somewhere in the presentation slide.
Mini skirts
The miniskirt first gained popularity in the ’60s and ’70s as a playful and even defiant garment representing a shift in societal dynamics. The frisky and errant attitude of the noughties was met with the arrival of a new type of miniskirt—one abbreviated from the top and the bottom and dubbed the low-rise microskirt.
according to vouge.com, In 2021, the appearance of the mini- and microskirt feels like a response to pandemic-caused restrictions. Sure, we’re more than happy to cover our faces, but let us bare our bellies and thighs! Sweats have been shed, skin-baring tops and low-rise bottom are au courant, and designers like Chanel, Courrèges, Etro, Miu Miu, Prada, Versace, Blumarine, Sandy Liang, Missoni, Balmain, Max Mara, and more are proving the appetite to show off our stems and dive back into the electricity of the outside world.
The mini of this moment features a more structured silhouette, can be low- or high-rise!
Monochromatic look
Monochromatic outfits are not news. In fact, the return of head-to-toe hues can be traced back to fall 2016 when brands like Gucci and Loewe sent outfits in aqua, pink, and purple shades down their runways. In 2021, monochrome seemed to be getting more and more passe meaning no longer fashionable, still wearable but nothing to write home about, until recent spring 2022, runways quickly reinstated monochromatic outfits as a high fashion styling trick. From Max Mara to Courrèges, Versace to Blumarine, the most recent runways proved that wearing a full monochromatic look strikes just the right note.

The spring 2022 runway season has been full of footwear that is sure to find its way into your wardrobe
the platform shoes
Recently, '70s fashions have been on the uptick when it comes to nostalgic fashion trends. We've seen the 90s and 2000s-era styles become popular over the last few years, and now, fashion is looking to the swinging 70s for some inspiration – including sky-high shoes. Platform shoes were the biggest shoes of the '70s for example Versace outfitted pairs with rubber grips for an overall athletic feel.

Boots
If you’re looking for a shoe option that offers much more coverage, the dominant boot style of the new season is of the heavy-soled, flatform variety. In varying shaft heights, this heavy boot style appeared in collections for Givenchy, Schiaparelli, and Vivienne Westwood. It’s a look that will speak to the person who’s not afraid of a little extra height and bold attitude.
The over the knee trend has evolved beyond what was cool a few years ago. From skin-tight designs to loose and slouchy silhouettes, there are so many ways to rock this footwear. Juxtapose the flesh-covering boots with a mini skirt, blazer dress, or flirty shorts and dresses – this will create the illusion of elongated legs and looks great with movement. If you want to make a statement, try a pair in a standout shade or texture, such as cherry red, animal print, sparkly Lurex, or covered in Swarovski crystals. If choosing bold shoes, keep your other accessories in the same vein as your ensemble or as minimal as possible.
Another platform shoe that id like to highlight here is the:
Loafers
Perhaps it’s considered a male style classic or the ultimate slipper design, but this season, the polished style took the fashion world by storm. This fall 2021 shoe trend brought in the style of stacked heels and towering platforms. The high-rise version of loafers was seen on runways, from Tod’s to Versace.

Y2K-Inspired Necklaces
Playful and nostalgic, novelty shapes and kitsch motifs rendered in colorful synthetic materials and recycled plastics inject a sense of fun into season 2022 accessories. Large-scale toy box charms are key for the childlike aesthetic.
With flower, butterfly, and alphabet charms, spring is all about playful, nostalgic necklaces.
Chuncky chains
Statement jewelry is obviously not a new trend. Chunky chains dominated fashion week 202, and super-sized hoops were big last spring. But come spring 2021, you’ll see hardware, chains, and hoops evolve even further, and enter the oversized realm. From Victoria Beckham to Hérmes, runways were filled with heavy metal jewelry pieces that were reminiscent of hardware, proving that next year, bigger may be better.

looking at everything I just shared with you earlier, it is safe to say that the obvious fashion silhouette of 2022 fashion is leaning towards, bodycon, relaxed, and oversized silhouette. The boldest trend of the resort continues summer’s mood for sexy dressing. Body-conscious cuts that skim your shape come in interesting colors, with cut-out details for going out-out. I'm hoping to see more asymmetrical and complex layering for the cutouts trend in 2022. As mentioned earlier wearing something baggy like an oversized suit is an effortless way to look fashionable. Crop top in knitwear also will be trendy
oversized
as the examples here this is a type of style is also categorized as business school dropouts, wearing baggy or wide pants with a long jacket is also such an easy way of looking stylish during the winter. I personally really like the idea of wearing something that's oversized because it represents a sense of being genderless in clothing and yet very comfortable too!
There's also another thing that I forgot to include in here like structural clothing and:
Avant-Garde Shoulders, for something structural there are some good examples that u can check out in the Off-white fall winter 2022 collection.

Here are some examples of the stated silhouette from some recent celebrities' posts:
Bodycon Examples:
Miniskirt/ short clothing silhouette:
Relax/ Baggy silhouette:
For the color trend, I categorized it into two groups. looking at the collection that I was talking about earlier I think neutral colors (look at the pic)
Aside from that, I think the major highlight of the color trend for 2022 are these colors vibrant colors, I've been seeing these colors are being used in so many runway shows this year a lot of influencers and celebrities are starting to wear these bright colors.
The keyword to take away from here is to wear something vibrant, if u don't wanna be the center of attention you can always wear these neutral colors because I feel like they are evergreen and will give u such a clean look. if you wanna look really on-trend wear a monochromatic look with a neutral color and accessorize your look with any of these colors to make a statement in your outfit!

I believe I was supposed to be categorizing the items into two different groups which are long-term and short term trends:
"..The long-term trend has to do with macro trends—major shifts in fashion that will be relevant for more than two years. These are the big-picture trends that define the fashion business, such as changes in demographics, lifestyle, and the way that clothes are made and sold.
I think its easier to identify long terms trends now because most of the items stated above are essential items like long leather or PU jacket, matching suits, miniskirts, and catsuits. it's just all about colors, styling techniques, fabric textures that make a fashion trend is relevant. from what I've seen on the internet, a lot of consumers now are more interested in sustainable fashion and that's how I see fashion in years ahead from now is to be sustainable. I think most of the items above can be categorized as long-term trends because most of them can stay relevant for the foreseeable future. I think it's just all about your color choices and the way you style them.
Short-term forecasting tends to focus on the details, such as the colors that are in trend from season to season. so for short terms trends I'm gonna have to say the cut-out style especially those with too complicated designs.. they're nice but they're not categorized as essential items and they're just most likely to be on-trend and I've been seeing a lot of celebrities wearing them in music videos and Instagram post I just cannot see people are going to keep wearing cutouts in 3 years ahead"..
last but not least I'd like to end my fashion forecasting with a lineup following 15 looks for 2022 fashion trends. the collection is designed for fall-winter ready to wear 2022.

As you can see I incorporate so many bright colors within my collection because that's how I wanted to interperate fashion in this season is to be a lot of fun. I got a little bit carried away when picking colors of the color board when designing the collection but it just makes the collection look super eye-catching. I also really like the fact that not everything in the collection is vibrant colors. if you wish to wear something with a neutral color for a more sustainable style you can always go for the neutral colors that we have in here such as white, beige and green. in terms of silhouette, I wanted to go for something that is either skin-tight or something super baggy and relaxed. in the collection, the most important items that you should have in your wardrobe to be on-trend are the cutouts and shoes with interesting heels styles like the loafer or knee-high boots that are bold with color, texture, or any other statement-making details.

As you can see if u look closely most of the items here are basic items that you normally see so that's why to be a part of the trend you don't really need anything that's to extravagance. It's basically all about styling, color choice, and accessories. as mentioned wear something really big. the bigger is better. speaking of accessories I also style my croquis with a square scarf. I've been seeing a lot of celebrities and influencers wearing them and obviously, they're not something new but this season the way it's been styled is on point and looks super fashionable. this is also another thing that you should consider to get to be on-trend. In terms of sunglasses you can try to find something that's is retro, oversized, and also have some interesting color or just an oversized black sunglass with colored lenses.

I really like it when the glasses have some interesting shape to them with a really outstanding color its such an easy touch to your outfit but with a glamorous outcome. If you wish to wear something with a pattern just to prove to others that you know what you're doing is to wear prints with repetitive elements in them so that when you are mixing and matching different prints together it's not gonna look super chaotic. this kind of style is called clashing prints meaning mixing and matching different patterns that you may not have originally paired together.
Since this is the final part of my presentation I just wanted to let you know that I took most of my source of information regarding the collections I saw on vogue.com and wwd.com.
I also visit each brands' website to see what their collections are about. As mentioned earlier, I also visit so many celebrities and influencers on Instagram to see whether they're rocking the trends above or not in order to support my prediction.
